YOUR DEDICATED COACHES
Owner and Coach
“Zirk” is passionate about, and specializes in, adaptive and wounded warrior training. Veteran fitness and long-term health are deep-rooted passions for Alec; a disabled veteran himself. After college, Alec was commissioned in the U.S. Navy and was deployed to combat zones multiple times and served on numerous counter-piracy operations. He suffered a tragic injury that left him hospitalized for months and required 10+ surgeries to try and save his leg. Rehab and recovery were a slow and demoralizing process for him … until he rejoined CrossFit.
Despite losing function and sensation in his right leg, Alec returned to active-duty service for two more years. During his last tour he co-founded Kuwait Naval Base CrossFit (a military affiliate) and is now the current Owner/Operator of Fathom as well as the Founder and Head Coach for the Fathom Adaptive CrossFit Program which serves all adaptive, wounded, ill, and injured athletes in Southern California.
“CrossFit, and more specifically, the amazing people in this empowering community, literally got me back on my feet,” Alec says. “Today, I’m stronger and healthier (albeit disabled) than I have ever been, and I would never be where I am today if it weren’t for CrossFit. I train, coach and love CrossFit because it gave me a second chance at a healthy and happy life.”
